5-Note Headjoint Tunes for Flute

5-Note Headjoint Tunes for Flute

$10.00Price
Do you have young flutists that are eager to play well-known tunes right from the start? 5-Note Headjoint Tunes for Flute is the perfect resource for you to help them achieve just that!

Headjoint Tunes are twelve simple short arrangements, that use the first five degrees of the scale to get young flutists playing recognisable melodies straight away, without having to use the flute as a whole. Just the headjoint!

Students can get stuck in immediately with unique symbol notation and be encouraged to really listen to the sound they are making and what they are playing. Each melody visually retains the structure of a music stave, but with a clear, easy to read colour, shape, and number system. Starting with three finger positions inside the headjoint and progressing to five, adding in repeats, staccato and octaves for a real challenge.

My wish is for these arrangements to assist teachers in guiding their young flutes to:

  • Strengthen their embouchure to play melodies with a beautiful bright, clear and rich tone.
  • Be introduced to and recognise different note values, patterns, rhythms, rests, and repeats.
  • Play with a strong sense of timing and internal beat.
  • Hear and interpret their sound to develop accurate pitch
  • Have FUN and PLAY!
...and thats not all!

Colours can be matched to a range percussion instruments, and numbers to right hand piano fingers. These tunes can be played in multiple ways to reinforce rhythm and pitch, and can be used to explore different key signatures on the whole flute.
